Enclosure 22

335

Superintendent, Govt Civil Hospital to Colonial Surgeon

(Copy)

Government Civil Hospital,

Sir,

Hongkong, 2nd December, 1886.

I repeat my protest against these proceedings "in toto."

The intimation contained in Colonial Secretary's letter of 4th November is entirely opposed to that conveyed to me in Government Order of 16th October, and I am thus placed on the horns of a dilemma.

The latter expressed the great displeasure of the Acting Governor at Dr. Th. B. Ayres, Colonial Surgeon.
